The former deputy Cyber Command leader succeeds Dave Lysack, who founded the radar tech company in 2006 and will move into a different role

C Speed, the radar technology maker acquired by NewSpring Holdings in the fall, has appointed retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Kevin McLaughlin as its next chief executive.

McLaughlin has been a member of C Speed’s board of directors since that transaction and succeeds Dave Lysack, who founded the company in 2006. Lysack will remain a part of the leadership team and continue focusing on business development and mission execution, C Speed said Thursday.

Prior to C Speed, McLaughlin worked with NewSpring for close to a decade as a member of both the private equity firm’s federal advisory board and the Avantus Federal board of directors. NewSpring sold Avantus to QinetiQ's U.S. subsidiary in the fall of 2022 for $590 million.

He retired from military service in 2017 after a 34-year career that culminated with service as deputy commander of Cyber Command for three years. His assignments also included commander of the 24th Air Force and Air Forces Cyber.
