A pair of veteran Defense Department technology leaders line up new roles in the industry, among other key hires to note.
Apogee
Pete Brady has joined the digital transformation and mission operations support provider as vice president of growth, where he will focus his efforts on transitioning to full-and-open work.
He most recently worked as chief growth officer at Barbaricum for two years. His career prior to that includes senior roles at QBE, TekSynap, BlueWater Federal Solutions, Intelligent Decisions and ManTech.
Brady is also a retired Army officer and brings 35 years of combined military and industry experience to Apogee.
Capgemini Government Solutions
Ray Holder has joined the U.S federal subsidiary of this global technology services provider as chief growth officer following two decades at other contractors.
Holder most recently worked as vice president of digital growth at Maximus and before that was on the federal growth leadership team at Amazon Web Services.
His career also includes business development and sales roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, DXC Technology and Perspecta.
Etelligent Group
John Konisiewicz has joined the provider of data security, management and identity access management solutions as executive vice president of growth.
The two-decade market veteran will oversee eTel’s overall business development and capture function.
Konisiewicz most recently was a senior leader at Gunnison Consulting and before that held leadership roles at Peraton, where he focused on federal financial programs.
Etelligent is backed by IMB Partners, which entered this investment in 2023.
Goldschmitt and Associates
Gregg Greenfield has joined the provider of systems design, business support and computer programming services as chief growth officer.
The four-decade federal technology veteran most recently was an executive strategist at IQVIA Government Solutions, the health IT and clinical research company’s subsidiary for the U.S. federal market.
His career also includes senior leadership roles at Alta Systems, Swain Techs and Dynamic Systems Technology.
J29
Dion Trahan has joined the health care management consulting company as vice president of growth to steer its push for expansion across federal, state and commercial markets.
The two-decade public sector veteran most recently worked as a business development leader at Abt Global and is a former staff member for the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
J29 opened for business in 2017 and employs 280 people. The company works with clients to process, review and analyze claims, records and audits.
OSC Edge
Michael “Mike” Ellerbe has joined the IT engineering and cybersecurity provider as president, a role he brings four decades of public sector experience to.
Ellerbe most recently worked as chief strategy officer for NTT Data’s U.S. federal subsidiary. From 2009 to 2022, he was client executive for NTT Data Federal’s portfolio with the Defense Department.
The retired Army officer will work with OSC Edge’s chief executive Tiffanny Bailey to shape the company’s vision and strategy.
Riverside Research
Dr. Kimberly Sablon has joined the national security-focused nonprofit organization as chief technology officer, a role that involves leadership of independent research-and-development.
The 16-year government tech veteran most recently served as principal director for trusted AI and autonomy for the Defense Department’s undersecretary for research and engineering.
Her career also includes roles such as director of science and technology for the Army.
Second Front Systems
Kathy Arcano has joined the public-benefit software company as chief financial officer, a role she brings 15 years of tech sector experience to.
Arcano most recently worked as a vice president of finance at Flock Safety amid a period of multiple financing rounds. Her career also includes roles at Amazon and Greenhouse Software.
Second Front wrapped up its $70 million Series C capital raise in the fall. The company’s network of investors includes the venture arms of Booz Allen Hamilton and Salesforce.
Turion Space
Dr. Thomas Cooley has joined the space situational awareness software company as chief scientist to help it further push the development of new orbital systems.
Cooley most recently worked as senior vice president of technology strategy at ExLabs, which he joined in 2024 after 25 years at the Air Force Research Laboratory that included five as chief scientist for the space vehicles directorate.
Turion’s network of investors includes Washington Harbour Partners, which backed the startup in the spring.
One Stop Systems
David Bassett, a retired Army lieutenant general and 35-year military veteran, has joined the board of directors at this maker of ruggedized compute and storage products.
Bassett concluded his Army career with three years as director of the Defense Contract Management Agency until retiring in 2023.
He is also a former program executive officer for the Army’s Command, Control, and Communications-Tactical office also known as PEO C3T.
