The AE Industrial Partners-backed company adds more work in areas like blockchain and digital forensics.

CASE, a software development specialist focused on the national security community, has acquired an IT services provider for federal and commercial clients in a move to add more technical offerings.

Ragnarok Technologies opened for business in 2015 to provide engineering and IT solutions across areas such as blockchain analytics, digital forensics, cloud infrastructure and software development.

Terms of the transaction announced Wednesday were not disclosed. Ragnarok’s three co-founders – Thomas Dougherty, Ethan Grambow and Chris Santiago – will move into new roles on CASE’s senior leadership team.

CASE is owned by the private equity firm AE Industrial Partners, which formed the company in the fall of 2022 via the combination of AEI-backed FireTeam Solutions with Case Consulting.

Approximately two years later, CASE acquired CyberKinetics to bring in more data engineering and IT infrastructure-related work for intelligence agencies.

G Squared Capital Partners and Peloton Strategies Group advised Ragnarok on the transaction.
