Tetra Tech has acquired a provider of IT systems modernization and data analytics services in yet another move by the global engineering company to build out its federal technology practice.
Halvik Corp. opened for business in 2007 to specialize in agile delivery and digital solutions with the goal of helping agencies deploy new tech tools on quicker turns. Halvik describes its core service lines as including enterprise architecture, the DevOps software development practice, automated testing, cloud computing and enterprise resource planning.
As part of the transaction, Tetra Tech is adding roughly 600 employees to its government services group and expanding footprints among both defense and civilian agencies. Financial terms of the agreement announced Thursday were not disclosed.
“The addition of Halvik expands our high-end analytics and digital solutions across U.S. federal agencies,” Roger Argus, Tetra Tech president and CEO-designate, said in a release. “Halvik broadens our relationships with the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Department of Transportation.”
Halvik has recorded approximately $148.2 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months with Defense Department agencies representing 28% and civilian the remaining 72%, according to USASpending.gov data.
NASA and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are Halvik’s two largest customers at 23% each. Roughly 25% of that revenue figure comes from work with Transportation Department entities including the Federal Highway Administration.
Tetra Tech has prioritized acquisitions of federal IT businesses over the last decade in a push to create more synergies and other commonalities between its government and infrastructure businesses.
