The Enlightenment Capital-backed company grows its workforce to roughly 500 people with BCubed in the fold.

Auria, the space software developer backed by Enlightenment Capital, has acquired a provider of “C3” software and hardware for agencies such as Space Force and those in the intelligence community.

BCubed opened for business in 2015 to concentrate on command, control and communications offerings for space and ground systems. BCubed’s customer base also includes Special Operations Command as the company looks to bring space-centered data and related technologies into tactical environments.

With this transaction announced Monday, Auria is looking to expand its portfolio in emerging areas such as software-defined satellite communications and cloud-native command-and-control platforms. Auria also grows its workforce to roughly 500 people, while financial terms were not disclosed.

“BCubed enhances our ability to provide integrated, software defined capabilities that connect command authorities, ground infrastructure, and operators at the tactical edge into a single operational framework,” Auria’s chief executive Damian DiPippa said in a release.

“BCubed was built to ensure mission continuity from the highest levels of command down to the point of execution,” added Chris Bartley, founder and CEO of BCubed. “Joining Auria allows us to scale our technology offerings and deliver even greater end-to-end mission impact for our customers and operators on the ground.”

Enlightenment Capital unveiled Auria to the market in 2024 after bringing together four portfolio businesses. In January, Auria acquired RKF Engineering Solutions and Kythera Space Solutions to add technical capabilities in satellite communications and in-orbit resource management.
