For Redhawk, this transaction follows Genesis Park's investment in the two-year-old company in the fall.
Redhawk Federal Solutions, a digital services company focused on business transformation and enterprise architecture support, has acquired a small business whose work includes what is commonly dubbed SETA – systems engineering and technical assistance.
Twenty8 Technology opened for business in 2015 to work on programs involving digital transformation and system modernization, plus cloud computing and cybersecurity. Twenty8 also touts cybersecurity and risk management as a core service line, which includes incident response and continuous monitoring.
With this transaction announced Monday, Redhawk is moving to add data interoperability and artificial intelligence/machine learning tech work into its offerings. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Falls Church, Virginia-headquartered Twenty8 has recorded approximately $8.1 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is the sole customer there, according to USASpending.gov data.
Twenty8 currently provides SETA support to DARPA’s IT directorate and the Air Force’s A1X organization responsible for strategic planning, resource management and financial improvement audit readiness. The Navy’s Program Executive Office Digital also works with Twenty8 on data interoperability and cloud efforts.
For Redhawk, this transaction follows the two-year-old company’s receipt of an investment from Genesis Park in the fall. Genesis Park is a Houston-headquartered firm investing out of two Small Business Investment Companies with $575 million in capital commitments.
Through the SBIC program, investors receive venture funding to then invest in small businesses via loans supported by the Small Business Administration.
